Are you triskaidekaphobic? Then we have an audio drug to heal your fear disorder. It’s called “Details”. And consists of 13 in the mix tracks, released by a Frankfurt label established three years ago to leave a very own mark on the Deep & Minimal House genre. With a bow before the historical achievements of the golden Chicago Jack and Detroit Tech innovators, but not that low that it could limit the own mobility. And a far cry from common ice cold, free of emotion minimal click sound dictates. To create warm, atmospheric but also bass driven energetic structures was main target right from the beginning instead. Something that really deserves the title LEVEL NON ZERO with non gravity music high above average tracks and average record labels. Music that can’t reveal the full impact when dropping the needle on it just for a second or pre-listened as low resolution online-file.
Starting off with the debut 12-inch DESIRE in 2004 and 14 releases later the imprint conducted by Pascal FEOS and his partner Chris Wood already has made it. And, thanks to optimal nourish and cherish, grew from a rare plantlet to a strong, fine-branched tree.
This CD is the first LNZ mix compilation ever and displays some of the most requested highlights and other terrific musical moments in the young label history. With tracks that can be compared to the behaviour of a octopus in the deep blue: At first slowly approaching, then embracing you cosy with all of its eight tentacles, suddenly adhering and pulling you down to the ocean’s ground. Experience a 74,14 minutes lasting Tech House feeling similar to the rapture of the deep. Wisely built and perfectly mixed, this CD develops a breathtaking organic flow that other compilations too often promise but always break. A flow that brings together13 different coloured underwater bubbles until they touch each other and blend into a giant iridescently one. Beginning with the latest tunes from Wood/Berovic/Leicher called DOWN BELOW and THE WAVE, presenting a tasty subtle HiHat-sound melting on your tongue like a butterscotch, followed by the ultra hypnotic and due the huge success on Ibiza just re-released track REZOLUTION by Pascal FEOS & Marc Miroir. The fabulous Acid infiltrated label hits TRES O TRES and FURTHER & FURTHER (produced with Klang Elektronik Mastermind Heiko M/S/O) are also part of the adventure, not to forget the legendary TANZBOMBE (DANCE BOMB) which reached top underground chart positions all over Germany. Nicely complete rounded is the mix by Andrew Frame’s awesome psycho baseline tune BLUE MATRIX.
We’re sure that “Details” will have a kind of backdraft effect for all who haven’t heard LNZ tracks before. To open this door means to be confronted with a fire outburst that only can be controlled by owning the original vinyl tracks. Btw: Any methods to really quench it are pretty senseless…
